Japanese favourite Motto Motto has landed in Maitland
Maitland’s Japanese dining options have just grown, with Motto Motto Japanese Kitchen opening its first local restaurant at Stockland Green Hills on Saturday, September 26.

If the name isn’t familiar, Motto Motto started in Brisbane and was born from the kitchen of Japanese fine-dining restaurant Sono. The idea was to take the techniques and attention to detail of its fine-dining beginnings and bring them into a more relaxed, everyday setting.
For the Green Hills location, that means a menu covering plenty of Japanese favourites, from bowls of ramen and donburi through to Japanese curry, bento, sides, and desserts.
Ramen is naturally a big part of the offering, including Motto Motto’s signature Classic Tonkotsu Ramen – the creamy pork broth topped with sliced pork, egg, nori and spring onion that features front and centre in the restaurant’s opening campaign.

It’s part of a broader made-to-order menu designed to sit somewhere between a quick shopping-centre lunch and a casual Japanese meal, giving Green Hills another option whether you’re after a bowl of ramen, curry or something to grab between shops.
The Maitland restaurant is the latest addition to Motto Motto’s growing collection of locations across Australia, with the Brisbane-born group already operating restaurants throughout Queensland, New South Wales, and Western Australia.

For Maitland and the wider Hunter, however, Green Hills marks the brand’s first local restaurant as Motto Motto COO Matt Fickling explained,
“We’ve been looking forward to bringing Motto Motto to Green Hills, and there’s been so much excitement from locals in the lead-up to our opening.”
So, if Japanese curry is your go-to, you can’t pass up a donburi, or a big bowl of tonkotsu ramen is more your style, you’ve now got another reason to make a food stop on your next Green Hills visit.
