Newcastle’s iconic run returns from hill to harbour

One of Newcastle’s favourite running events is back in 2027, with Hill to Harbour returning on Sunday, 4 April.

Runners, walkers and wheelchair participants can take on three distances, with the 12km Hill to Harbour course stretching from Bar Beach to Carrington.

The main event is the 12km Hill to Harbour, a point-to-point course that takes in some of Newcastle’s best coastline, beaches and harbour views before finishing at Pat Jordan Oval in Carrington.

For a shorter option, the 6km Halfa Hill to Harbour starts at The Station and follows a more achievable route while still bringing plenty of race-day atmosphere.

The Hunter Valley Orthodontics 2K-4-FUN is the family-friendly option, starting and finishing at Pat Jordan Oval and open to kids, families and anyone keen to be part of the day.

All participants who cross the finish line will receive a commemorative medal, while overall male and female winners will receive prizes.

Early bird entries open in November 2026, with registrations closing the day before the event unless sold out earlier.
