Your guide to eating, drinking and shopping at Newcastle Airport
If it’s been a while since you’ve flown out of Newcastle Airport, you might notice things are looking, and feeling, a little different.
With the terminal transformation now complete, there’s plenty more room to move, together with a nice mix of venues whether it's for grabbing a coffee, settling in for a bite to eat, doing some last-minute shopping, or starting your holiday with a pre-flight drink.

One of the biggest changes is the newly opened-up layout, with the Novocastrian Taphouse now visible as soon as you enter Departures. The relocation of RELAY has made way for additional seating and those all-important runway views.

If you’ve got some pre-flight time to spare before boarding, RELAY is worth a browse. It’s an airport newsagency taken up a few notches, with an extensive range of books and magazines alongside pharmacy and beauty essentials, local produce, Newcastle Knights merchandise, luggage, and tech products, including Apple devices.

Located within RELAY is the eyewear concept store Eyelove, ideal for anyone wanting to update their sunglass collection before heading off on holidays.

What kind of traveller are you?
Once you’ve cleared security, what happens next depends on what kind of traveller you are, where you’re flying to, and how much time you’ve allowed yourself.
Novocastrian Taphouse
If you’re all about the holiday mode which starts the second you walk to the departure lounge, head straight for the Novocastrian Taphouse for a drink overlooking the runway.

The Cove
Need to fire off a few final emails before switching on the out-of-office? The Cove is a relaxed cafe option for a coffee and a bite to eat.
