Darby Street closes, but there’s plenty more brewing at HOUSE
Darby Street coffee drinkers will soon be saying goodbye to HOUSE Darby, with the venue set to close its doors.
“It’s been an amazing opportunity and a privilege to be part of the Darby Street community,” General Manager Tristan Harries said. “With some other opportunities on the horizon, it just made sense to call time on our chapter on Darby Street and refocus our attention elsewhere.”
“Darby Street had its own energy. It became more than a coffee stop – it was a community hub where regulars became familiar faces, and familiar faces turned into relationships. That’s what makes saying goodbye to Darby Street land a little differently for us.”
What’s the next step for HOUSE?
With HOUSE Darby Street becoming much more than somewhere to grab a morning coffee – and an important part of many customers’ daily routines – we wanted to know what comes next for HOUSE.
"Cardiff and Rutherford are absolutely pumping right now, and that energy's only ramping up. If you haven't been through either yet, now's the time."
Rutherford was the first HOUSE venue and remains an important part of the brand's story, while HOUSE Cardiff has become its flagship – both continuing the same HOUSE experience just in a supersized format.
Tristan hinted that whilst one door is closing, they are in the early stages of opening another venue in the near future.
Exactly where that venue will be, and what it will look like, Tristan is keeping quiet about for the time being. For now, it’s about saying goodbye to a much-loved Darby Street chapter, continuing the story at Cardiff and Rutherford, and keeping an eye on what HOUSE does next.
